Taking back promises I never made
(Look in my eyes, you know I'm afraid)
laugh when I say you'll take this to your grave
animals are deadly when cornered in pain

The face of an angel carved out of stone
the words taste like gravel when spoken alone
the hate in that rock give my eyes their light
its not much to look at, but it keeps me alive

Feel the face of the pain you've betrayed
know intimately this storm of dismay
swallow the nectar of losing your faith
I just want to know if you planned it this way

The face of an angel made purer than snow
her tears slowly draining the pool of hope
heartless and hopeless, the world has let go
(I just want to know, I just want to know)

I just. NEED to, FIND where this leads to

I speak of a cup, you know what I ask

I just. NEED you, FIND me and break through

I'm tasting a drink you downed to the last

The face of an angel cast out on his own
the  heart of a devil who never let go
the taste of a savior who died all alone
where did you go? where did he go?

My Comfort

For Mrs. K

Momma’s gone back home

But I’m left standing here

I’m feelin’ so alone

I’m told I shouldn’t fear

It’s easy to trust when the sun is shinin’

It’s easy to cry when you’re alone

It feels like life is fallin’ down around you

You gotta remember who’s on the throne

(Chorus)

My comforter, find me here

I know you saved my soul

But can you dry my tears

My All-In-All, rescue me

When I’m weighted down by fears

You can set me free

When I’m afraid, I’ll rest in you

Cause in the darkest nights

I know your word’s still true

Said easier than done

I find it hard to just let go

I’ve always tried to run

And not confess that I don’t know.

It’s easy to trust when the sun is shinin’

It’s easy to cry when you’re alone

It feels like life is fallin’ down around you

You gotta remember who’s on the throne

(Chorus)

Bringing Me Back

By Jensen D. Near

Lost in this darkness, searching for a light
Don't think I ever could go home
Then in the midnight, I hear Him calling
He took my failings as His own
I'm so afraid, I've run so far
But still He says come as you are
I don't understand why you take me in
But I know your blood paid for my sin

(Chorus)
Your gracious mercy covers me
Holy Father, give me eyes to see
I am broken, I am bleeding
Father hold my hand
I am humbled, now I see I
Need your strength to stand

All this discomfort, one more reminder
That this world is not my home
But sometimes I wander--and I heed the deceiver
He tells me I'll make it on my own
What brought me here was my own pride
Ran from my sin but I can't hide
You offer grace, but I run in shame
Pretend I can't hear you call my name

(Chorus)

I’ve Run away, Not for the first time

And yet you’re still pursuing me

Why am I running? –Don’t really know

What can I fear from love so free?

You take me back, celebrate my return

Tell me “son, my love can’t be earned”

You owe a debt, that you can’t repay

Christ’s death on the cross has paid your way

Filled up with questions and shadowed by doubt
Burdened by deams that I can't figure out
Lost to my thoughts as my fears take me over
I need answers now I can't wait till I'm older

I let my gaze fall when you look to my eyes
you asked for my all and I gave compromise
now I ask to give you what I had held back
I'm down to my last, Lord, you're all I have

We Are His

Inspired by Romans 14:7-8

By JDN

In the times of trial

We call upon your name

And we bow at the bloodstained cross

The Lamb who took the blame

But in our darkest hours

We turn away from light

We revel in the darkness

'Til our Lord breaks the night

(chorus)

For if we live it's by His grace

And when we die, we'll see his face

We may not know where his plans will lead

But we are his, and He is Christ our King

In the hours of darkness

when our struggles seem in vain

But we will trust our master

For us He bore the pain

When weak men flee in terro r

His children shall remain

For we will fear no evil

By the power of His name

(bridge)

So live your life

As unto him

When hope shines bright

Or future dims

For if we live

Or if we die

He is our Lord

This is our cry
